Day 1 and 2 - Yummie, I got chocolate in my tummy!
We started our journey to Belgium from Chennai airport at 9:50 in the morning and after two flights we arrived in Brussels and landed at 7:30 pm local time. We were happy to see that Maria and Emmelie received us. After a short drive we arrived at the Salesian house in Woluwe and we had supper. After a long day, it was time to go to bed! Emmelie showed us our rooms and immediately we fell asleep.
On the very next day we had our breakfast at 9:00 AM at the Salesian house. After breakfast we put on our raincoats and left to explore Brussels. We went to the Saint Michael’s cathedral in Brussels by metro and after a short walk from the metro station we reached the impressive cathedral. Even the Belgian king’s children were baptised there!
After mass at 1:00 PM we ate our lunch and moved to the Atomium by metro, accompanied by Maria and Emmelie. It was raining but yet we had a spectacular view of the Atomium. After taking pictures we left for the last activity for today. We went to the Belgian Chocolate Village. It was absolutely interesting to learn about the cacao tree and there was a demonstration of making Belgian chocolate. Even we tasted one or two chocolates and it was delicious and crunchy! We also had a cappuccino and hot chocolate at the museum. After we finished the visit it was already time to go back. When we arrived at the Salesian house we had our supper and discussed the activities for tomorrow. We will meet the students of the school and spend the day with them. Today was a day full of fun, but now time to sleep!
